Social Media Relationships

Do you have a connection with others on Social Media?

Social media are the online communication Web sites and application channels dedicated to community-based input, interaction, content-sharing, an collaboration(Delta,2017).As technogly continues to develop more and more people are on social media daily. It has became an everyday life for people regardless of their age.Millions of people use social media to become informed and share interest (Delta,2017). Facebook is one of the most popular social media sites out now , which was orginally only created for college students. There are many different ways to connect with others on social media . It doesn’t require much effort to connect with others. You are able to follow people , be their friend and even share intrest with someone if you all like similar things. Homophily is the bond with others who have similar interests.

Social media algorithms have an affect on isolation. We study the issue of polarization in society through a model of opinion formation. We say an opinion formation process is polarizing if it results in increased divergence of opinions (Dandekar,2013). Everyone has a different reason or prespective for using social media. Some may use the different platforms to create false hope or even share fake news. Homophily alone, without biased assimilation, is not sufficient to polarize society. As we see different things posted it throughout social media we tend to develop our own thoughts based on what we infer or take a way from a specific post.

Positivity will take you a long way. If you are able to see the good from the bad you are winning. The bad is what sticks out. The moment you press send or enter the moment the everything you post is able to be seen amongst the entire universe. It is important to verify any information you are sharing because you don’t want to give out inaccurate information. Many of us trust others to post accurate information , some of us don’t research like others so we automatically believe what another person might say. Believe it or not telling one person something is like telling four people. So just imagine if you have 2,000 people on your social media that is equivalent to telling 8,000 people.
