The cure for America

We all have the moment when we learn that the world is not what we thought. That can take many forms and, for some, people doesn’t happen at all. As an American from a Midwest farming community that…

Why We Need to Take Climate Change Seriously

Our future grandchildren’s well-being is at stake.

It is crazy to think our beautiful planet could become as hot as a ghost pepper. Our planet is on the way to be quite dangerous for our future grandkids, so dangerous that they are not going to be able to survive.

Climate change is when the temperature is changing for a long period of time. Over recent years, the temperature on Earth has been rising dramatically. The rising has had a negative effect on the planet already, and it is only going to get worse.

We all must try to save our planet for the future. Because it can be fixed, but we have to take it seriously. Before, it is too late.

Over the years, our planet has been going through changes that will have a horrible effect on us in the future. It has been all over the news, but people continue to do things that cause all of us harm.

First, we all have to realize what the real problems are, so we can try to reverse the downfall of our planet.

Nerem, R. S., B. D. Beckley, J. T. Fasullo, B. Hamlington, D. Masters, and G. T. Mitchum. “Climate-change — driven accelerated sea-level rise detected in the altimeter era.” Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (2018).

We should all see that the planet is not happy with us because we are not treating it right. Some of us are not even paying attention to the horrible effects of climate change that we are facing.

Our atmosphere is not going to keep protecting us if we do not stop contributing to climate change. The atmosphere is what allows us to live on Earth. If we did not have it, we would all burn to death.

You would think that since our lives depend on the atmosphere that it would get taken care of, but it is not. It is falling apart, and it is affecting us now. It is only going to get worse if we don’t start changing things.

According to CNN, “Expect approximately 650 excess deaths per year caused by extreme heat by 2050”(Marsh 4)and that is only 30 years from now. People are going to start dying from climate change, and we have to do something about it.

We can do simple things to save the planet like recycle, use less transportation(when possible), and turn off electronics(when you are not using them). It is time that we all start doing our part, so our planet can prosper. Because climate change CAN be reversed, but we must do the small things first.
