Sometimes a book is not just a book, it is so much more than that. Dale Carnegie’s “How to win friends & influence people” is remarkably an amazing piece of literature that helps one to improve interpersonal skills. While reading it’s first chapter I came across some amazing examples of how becoming interested in other people life makes your life amazing and wonderful. If you want to be loved, you have to love other people first. If you want to be looked after, you have to look after others first. That is how life works and this is how you make friends. You need to be a people’s person!
After reading this book’s chapter 1, I spent next whole day implementing it in my life. I kept on asking my friends, family, cousins and acquaintances about them and the responses were amazing! Most of them were surprised as I texted them after a long time, I contacted some friends after a long time and it felt so good to get in contact with them. After all these activities I felt a bliss.
Knowing about everyone, putting my feet in their shoes made me realize how much I was important to them when they started talking to me about their life affairs. My actions represented being interested part, I would not have enjoyed talking to my friends if I would have only reflected on being interested part. Also, my friends would have stopped talking to me if it would have been only about me.
It is very important for us to keep in contact with our friends and relatives and it is more important to always show care to them. No matter who the person is we should always show respect and care, it eventually helps us to be more important in their lives!
